SACRAMENTO — On the same day Leondra Kruger reactivated her long-dormant California Bar status, Gov. Jerry Brown defended his Supreme Court nominee from critics who say she lacks the experience needed to serve on the state’s highest court.

“There can be judges who sit on the court for a long time. You can compare their body of work and you can compare hers,” Brown said in an interview Monday evening with The Recorder. “And I think she stands very tall.”
