SAN JOSE — A federal judge seems satisfied by a $415 million settlement that would resolve claims that four major Silicon Valley tech companies suppressed worker wages by agreeing not to recruit each other’s employees.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh offered no opinion at a hearing Monday on the settlement amount, which is $90 million more than an earlier deal she rejected as too low. But she set in motion the next steps of the process, indicating she plans to grant preliminary approval. The final settlement hearing is set for July 9.
