The Appellate Division of the Superior Court of the City and County of San Francisco denied a petition for writ of mandate. The court held that the San Francisco Rent Ordinance, in addressing the rights of tenants evicted from a residential unit due to the owner’s intent to occupy the unit, did not require the owner to notify the tenants of their right to reoccupy the unit in the event that a future owner returned the unit to the rental market.
