SAN FRANCISCO — The government’s art fraud case against fallen real estate tycoon Luke Brugnara received a booster shot of craziness on Monday, as juror No. 5—one of the original 12 jurors deliberating the case—was removed, replaced by an alternate, and arrested after two bizarre outbursts.
The juror in question, Ivan Jakic, was arrested Monday morning for causing a disruption in the Phillip Burton Federal Building after being dismissed from the jury by U.S. District Judge William Alsup.
