SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge refused on Monday to overturn an order barring an anti-abortion group from releasing hidden-camera videos recorded at the National Abortion Federation’s annual conferences in 2014 and 2015.
U.S. District Judge William Orrick III of the Northern District of California said the National Abortion Federation (NAF) likely had a “reasonable expectation of privacy” during its conferences, where anti-abortion activists are accused of using fake IDs to gain admittance and recording without permission. Furthermore, Orrick said the undercover actions of the activists appear to have violated nondisclosure agreements attendees signed upon entering the conference.
