SAN FRANCISCO — Three former Fenwick & West lawyers launched patent litigation boutique Tyz Marton Schumann in San Francisco on Monday, hoping to lure clients with rates they say will be a fraction of Fenwick’s.

Patent litigator Ryan Tyz has been practicing as a solo attorney since he left Fenwick eight months ago. Ryan Marton and David Schumann left Fenwick on Friday and joined the firm Monday. They said the firm would encourage the use of contingency fees or other success-based pricing models.
