SAN FRANCISCO — Life sciences and technology transactional partner Geoffrey Leonard joined King & Spalding’s San Francisco office Thursday. He departs Ropes & Gray, where he served as office managing partner for six years, ending in 2013.

King & Spalding’s tech platform and emphasis on company-side representation attracted Leonard, he said. While he has some investor and private-equity clients, Leonard said he largely acts as outside general counsel for sell-side companies, and his relationships are with their founders.
