SAN FRANCISCO — Thomas Lambert, the longtime chair of entertainment law boutique Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, died Saturday of a heart attack at age 69. The litigator was known for representing Fred Goldman in the civil trial that found football player O.J. Simpson liable for wrongful death as well as numerous high-profile entertainment-industry trials.

Lambert was lead strategist for the team that won a $33.5 million damages award in 1997 for the family of Ronald Goldman, whom Simpson was charged with murdering. Lambert presented the DNA evidence over two days, then saw his opposing counsel spend days on end arguing the evidence was contaminated and unreliable.
