SAN FRANCISCO — In the face of staunch union opposition, state bar trustees voted overwhelmingly on Monday to appoint embattled chief trial counsel Jayne Kim to a second term.

Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker, executive director of the State Bar of California, said she had carefully reviewed complaints against Kim—which include allegations of corruption and poor management—and concluded the bar’s discipline chief should serve another four-year term.
