Fitness tracker Jawbone won’t have to finish what it started against competitor Fitbit Inc. in San Francisco federal court, at least not for now.

In a first-of-its-kind ruling, U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam Jr. granted Jawbone’s motion to stay its own litigation against Fitbit in lieu of similar proceedings in the United States International Trade Commission.
