SAN FRANCISCO — With harsh words for the lead plaintiffs lawyer, a federal judge tossed class claims against Apple Inc. over its AppleCare warranty plans.
In an order Tuesday denying class certification, U.S. District Judge William Orrick III in the Northern District of California took issue not only with the merits of the claims, but also with what he described as the “dubious manner” in which the litigation commenced and the “manifestly incompetent manner in which it has been conducted.”
