SAN FRANCISCO — Plaintiffs lawyers in the San Francisco office of Edelson P.C. filed a proposed class action against Monster Inc. on Thursday over a host of alleged defects with the company’s tablet computer.

According to the 45-page complaint, problems with the design and manufacture of Monster’s M7 tablet cause its charging port to detach, rendering the device inoperable. The port was so poorly constructed, the suit alleges, that some devices were delivered broken and thousands of complaints poured in from frustrated consumers. Additionally, the device failed to live up to advertised promises that it offered a 5-megapixel camera and 16 gigabytes of storage, the suit alleges.
