SAN FRANCISCO — Taking a swipe at federal prosecutors’ “inattention” to detail, a federal judge dismissed many of the criminal counts against FedEx Corp. in a case alleging that the company knowingly shipped illegal prescription drugs.

In an order issued Friday, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer found that some FedEx corporate entities weren’t included in a series of agreements with federal prosecutors that gave the government more time to bring charges during a broader investigation into illegal online pharmacies.
