SACRAMENTO — Not quite six months into her new job at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, former U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag has landed a high-profile assignment: investigating whether UC-Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi violated university policies, including the improper use of student funds.
The UC’s Office of the President announced Thursday that Haag will lead a confidential review of Katehi’s actions. McGregor Scott, a former U.S. attorney for California’s Eastern District, will also work on the investigation, according to the Sacramento Bee. Scott, a partner in Orrick’s Sacramento office, is vice chair of the firm’s white-collar defense and corporate investigations practice.
