The practice of law is, in many ways, paperless. Social media, electronic filing, email and online calendars have changed not only how attorneys practice law but also how they communicate.

Generally, almost every attorney has some sort of presence online, at least through an online bio at the firm website. The number of attorneys and firms engaged in social media continues to grow. In 2015, the American Bar Association’s Legal Technology Survey Report found that 61 percent of survey respondents or their law practice participated in some online community and/or had some presence on social media. This number has only grown over the past few years.
