Sarah O’Dowd joined Lam Research Corp. in 2008 and now serves as the company’s chief legal officer. She helped negotiate the company’s largest acquisition ever, the purchase of KLA-Tencor Corp. for $10.6 billion. The deal, which is set to close later this year, values KLA-Tencor at $67.02 per share. The price represented a 24 percent premium to KLA-Tencor’s trading price the day before announcement. Following the deal’s close, KLA-Tencor shareholders will own 32 percent of the new, combined company.

O’Dowd did not reply to interview requests for this article. O’Dowd worked with a Jones Day team that spanned three countries and multiple practice areas beyond M&A, including securities, tax, banking and financial services, IP, along with litigation.
