SACRAMENTO – State lawmakers on Friday ratcheted up the pressure on Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky, releasing a letter they sent to judicial disciplinarians that urges them to charge the jurist with misconduct.

The letter to the Commission on Judicial Performance, signed by 10 legislators, including two who are lawyers, argues that Persky engaged in prejudicial and improper misconduct when he sentenced Stanford University student Brock Turner to six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman.
