SACRAMENTO — A state bar appellate panel has upheld the disbarment of a Peninsula attorney accused of bilking an elderly client out of $3.5 million.
A bar court trial judge in 2013 found that Wade Robertson of Stanford misled William Cartinhour Jr., promising the then-77-year-old Maryland resident in 2004 lucrative returns if he invested $2 million in a class action. But Robertson loaned most of Cartinhour’s money to himself and then lost it in bad investments, bar prosecutors said.
