Cooley intellectual property partner Mika Reiner Mayer’s 11-person team from her previous job at Morrison & Foerster has joined her at her new firm, giving Cooley what it says is the country’s largest life sciences patent practice.

Mayer moved over to Cooley in late June, and the group that followed her last week includes partner Walter Wu, four associates and six patent agents— a significant chunk of MoFo’s medical device group, plus some members of its pharma and biotech practices. That addition bumps Cooley’s life sciences patent practice to at least 70 people.
