SAN FRANCISCO — A lawsuit alleging that Uber Technologies Inc. CEO Travis Kalanick stole the idea for the ride-hailing service seems likely to continue rolling on—at least for now—as attorneys wrangle over whether the case is time-barred.
At a hearing Wednesday, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Mary Wiss seemed skeptical of the notion that Kevin Halpern, who says Uber is a carbon copy of his unsuccessful “Celluride” concept, didn’t grow suspicious enough to pursue his case when he learned about Uber in 2010.
