Bart Volkmer has a background in litigation, but he isn’t worried about becoming the top generalist at Dropbox Inc. Last month, the San Francisco-based data-storage company saw its first lawyer and general counsel, Ramsey Homsany, leave the legal profession. Volkmer, who was the second in-house lawyer at the company, stepped into the role.
Volkmer is primed and ready, having spent the past five years working with Homsany to build the company’s legal team. And if there’s a practice area Volkmer isn’t an expert on, an expert has already been hired.
