Chinese intellectual property boutique Beijing East IP has opened an office in Palo Alto, becoming one of a handful of Asian firms with a Silicon Valley presence.
Liaoteng Wang, who previously served as senior corporate counsel at Samsung Electronics Co., joined Beijing East IP as the new office’s managing partner. He’s currently the only lawyer there, and he’s taking a page from the book of countless startups: Until the office grows, he plans to work from his garage.
