SAN FRANCISCO ­­— A federal judge on Thursday scolded a Keker & Van Nest partner for withholding information about a state court lawsuit against food delivery company Instacart that is similar to a class action pending in his courtroom.

U.S. District Court Judge Edward Chen of the Northern District of California said Keker & Van Nest partner Rachael Meny violated court rules by not informing him of a case in Los Angeles state court that involves some of the same claims as a case now before Chen. The state court case settled earlier this year, and the deal would wipe away some claims that Chen had stayed.
