Silicon Valley litigator Susan van Keulen has been selected to fill the magistrate judge position in the Northern District of California’s San Jose Division vacated earlier this year by Paul Grewal.
A litigation partner at O’Melveny & Myers, van Keulen comes to the position with intellectual property bona fides—a useful knowledge base for tackling the tech-heavy San Jose federal docket. She served on the committee that advises on the Northern District’s local patent rules from 2006 to 2014.
