The Recorder invited Salle Yoo, the general counsel for Uber Technologies, to deliver the keynote address at a Sept. 29 dinner honoring this year’s 65 Women Leaders in Tech Law. Below is a condensed version of her speech.

About four years ago, I made the leap from being a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine to Uber. There were a number of reasons for the leap, but primary among them was the product—I fell in love with the Uber app. I fell in love with the product because it solved a real-life problem in my life—the need for reliable, on-demand transportation. And now, that problem is solved in over 500 cities around the world.
