SACRAMENTO — The California Supreme Court has disbarred a Walnut Creek attorney for stealing more than $600,000 from his firm in a scheme involving fake companies and phony invoices.
Kenneth Gerald Jones, a former partner at plaintiffs firm Bowles & Verna, will lose his law license on Oct. 19 under terms of a stipulation with the state bar that the Supreme Court approved on Wednesday. A state bar court judge revoked his ability to practice law in May pending the Supreme Court’s review of his recommended disbarment. The agreement requires Jones, a member of the California bar since 1998, to pay his former firm $555,455, plus 10 percent annual interest, in restitution.
