Once labeled by pundits as the nation’s first tech president, Barack Obama recruited like-minded West Coast executives, lawyers and engineers to Washington with a plea to help reboot government.

Now, with the clock ticking down the Obama administration’s final months, the question is: Will those appointees return to Silicon Valley, California or other points west? The answer for many of them, said former U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag, should be a resounding yes.
