SAN FRANCISCO — Google Inc. is going after a former employee who appears to have left the company last month to join self-driving car startup Drive.ai, alleging in a new lawsuit that he and at least 10 other unnamed defendants are responsible for taking confidential company information.
In a form complaint filed in state court in San Jose on Dec. 16, Google claims that Leonid Shamis in November “breached several of his obligations” in his February 2011 employment agreement with the company regarding the possession and use of Google’s confidential information. The complaint also accuses 10 “Doe” defendants of being “legally responsible in some manner” for the breaches.
