The Pacific Legal Foundation was founded in 1973 by members of then-Gov. Ronald Reagan’s senior staff. In the ensuing decades, the libertarian-leaning public interest law firm has challenged numerous government actions and policies on property rights, land use and environmental regulations. The Recorder recently checked in with James Burling, PLF’s litigation director, to see how the election of Donald Trump may change the firm’s focus in coming years.

What was your reaction as the presidential election results came in the night of Nov. 8?
