SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in Oakland has largely sided with the Golden State Warriors and the developers of the team’s Android mobile app on Monday in a privacy lawsuit accusing them of using fans’ mobile phone mics to eavesdrop and serve targeted ads.

The ruling from U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White dismissing the suit appears to be the first to deal with so-called beacon technology in mobile apps and highlights the difficulties plaintiffs face in privacy cases involving new technologies.
