The court of appeals reversed a district court judgment granting a writ of habeas corpus. The court held that because the “emergency aid” exception provided a plausible basis for the warrantless search of petitioner’s room, the district court erred in concluding that the state courts’ denial of petitioner’s state habeas petition was unreasonable.
