An intellectual property dispute that had the potential to make new law on the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) is instead coming apart on the issue of damages and a litigation funder’s cold feet.

Telesocial Inc. asked U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Judge James Donato on Wednesday to continue its April 10 CFAA and trade secrets case against Orange SA until June because of what it describes as “unexpected funding constraints” that it just learned about Tuesday.
