Seven of the group’s 21 associates, working out of offices in San Francisco and Menlo Park, were handed pink slips and a minimum of two months of severance pay.
According to Bay Area Managing Partner Edward Wes, the move was a reaction to the slowdown in corporate finance work. “I think what it is, is that we’ve experienced the same pressures that everyone else has,” said Wes.
