California employers can thank a cranky pair of disgruntled tech workers for a favorable appellate ruling that preserves their immunity in Internet-related speech cases.

After all, it had been 10 years since Congress passed legislation to protect Internet service providers from liability for what people say on the Internet. But until recently the courts had never tested whether that protection applied to employers who offer Internet access at work.
