Two years after joining Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, associate Joshua Lipp jumped ship. In early 2000 -- with partner Aaron Alter's assistance -- Lipp became the general counsel at Resonate Inc., a Sunnyvale, Calif., company that Wilson Sonsini ushered through incorporation. Lipp's move is a classic example of what happens when a lawyer leaves a firm to work at a successful client: The power has shifted.
