Nabarro adds two partners from Reed Smith and Pinsents

Nabarro has recruited two partners for its London headquarters with a double hire from Pinsent Masons and Reed Smith. The new additions, George Lubega and Philip Olmer, will join Nabarro next month (3 May) in the City law firm's commercial litigation and real estate practices respectively. Litigator Lubega is joining from Pinsents as the 27th partner in Nabarro's commercial disputes practice. He specialises in commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, and acts for a number of corporate clients and government departments.

A&O analysis of lateral hiring shows 90% partner retention at firm

Allen & Overy (A&O) has reviewed its lateral partner hiring programme over the last seven years, with the firm retaining more than 90% of the partners it brought in over the period. The magic circle firm's research, which comes against a backdrop of increasing numbers of UK and US firms taking a detailed look at their lateral hiring record, found A&O has brought in 95 partners over the last seven years, 19 of whom were hired for the firm's Australia launch last year. Of the total, only nine have departed.
