    Republican Leaders Won't Appeal Ruling on School Funding

    "We recognize the perspective of the court and appreciate the necessity for educational opportunities for all children throughout the commonwealth. This ruling provides an opportunity for meaningful changes to move Pennsylvania's education system into the 21st century," Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, R-Westmoreland, and Majority Leader Joe Pittman, R-Armstrong, said in a statement.

    Senate Passes Bipartisan Bill on Probation Reform

    On June 27, the Senate voted to pass a bill sponsored by Sens. Anthony Williams, D-Delaware; Lisa Baker, R-Luzerne; and Camera Bartolotta, R-Beaver, that will reform Pennsylvania's probation system.
