An audit commissioned by the Arizona State Senate following the November 2020 election became the subject of a lawsuit brought by a nonprofit over public access to the records, including those in the possession of Cyber Ninjas, the company contracted to conduct the audit.

After the November 2020 election, Arizona State Senate President Karen Fann, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Warren Peterson, and the Arizona Senate contracted with Cyber Ninjas to audit the 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County, according to the opinion.
