A federal judge in North Carolina recently blocked an attempt by two racing teams to prevent NASCAR from potentially excluding them from competition in the upcoming year.

On Nov. 8, U.S. District Judge Frank Whitney of the Western District of North Carolina denied a motion for preliminary injunction sought by 23X1 Racing and Front Row Motorsports against the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR, and its CEO and chairman, James France. The plaintiffs sought a preliminary injunction of what they claimed were anticompetitive measures by NASCAR to monopolize stock car racing.
