London-based Lewis Silkin has opened a Hong Kong office, its first outside of the United Kingdom.

The firm specializes in employment and immigration law, but also has a focus on intellectual property matters in the media and technology sectors. In a statement, Lewis Silkin said its clients increasingly needed employment-related advice in the Asia Pacific region.

The office will be led by partner Antonia Grant, who is relocating from London. Grant, who advises companies and high-net-worth individuals on immigration matters, has worked a total of eight years with Lewis Silkin and was promoted to partner last year. For six months in 2012, she was a senior manager on Ernst & Young's global immigration team in London. She will be joined in Hong Kong by one associate.
