Apple Gets Judge to Toss Out $625M Patent VerdictAttorneys from Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker in Palo Alto, Calif., and Washington, D.C., persuaded a Texas federal judge to throw out a $625.5 million patent infringement verdict against Apple Inc., one of the largest patent awards on record. In tossing out the Oct. 1 jury verdict against Apple, U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis said the evidence was not sufficient. He denied Apple's motions for a finding of inequitable conduct and a finding that the patents were invalid.
