11th Circuit will hear Ga. appeal in water case

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday denied a motion by Alabama and Florida to dismiss Georgia's appeal of a federal judge's ruling that Georgia was illegally using water from Lake Lanier, according to attorneys representing Georgia.McKenna Long Aldridge partners Bruce P. Brown and R. Todd Silliman, counsel to Georgia, said they had not obtained a copy of the court's order as of Thursday morning.

Bobby Lee Cook's partner dies in probable suicide

L. BRANCH CONNELLY, the law partner of Summerville criminal defense attorney Bobby Lee Cook, died last week of a gunshot wound.Connelly's death is being investigated as a suicide, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead.
