AB 1505, introduced by state Assemblywoman Nicole Parra, D-Hanford, would allow defendants as well as plaintiffs to appeal a court's class certification decision. Defendants, with court permission, would also be allowed to contact each class member to offer a pre-trial settlement. And class proponents would be required to pick up the tab for notifying class members.
