Payments approved in Neb. grain elevator failure

OMAHA, Neb. AP - Most of the farmers affected by Alvo Grain and Feed's bankruptcy this spring will receive only partial payments for their losses under a liquidation plan the Nebraska Public Service Commission has approved.The commission is exploring the idea of setting up a new insurance fund that might better protect farmers against losses in future grain elevator failures, but that idea is still in its infancy.
