Harvard Law to Finance Fellowships for Jobless GraduatesThe legal job market is dismal for third-year law students -- even those at Harvard Law School. And so the school has created something of a job safety net in the form of a fellowship program for students who have exhausted other job options. The program will provide as many as one dozen 2010 graduates with stipends of up to $35,000 to work in public interest law for one year. Applicants must prove that their attempts to land a job or fellowship have failed, said assistant dean for public service Alexa Shabecoff.

'Soft bounce' in entry level associate hiring, NALP reportsThe employment picture is looking up for recent law grads ? at least a little bit. New figures from the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) show that offer rates to summer associates rose from the historic low of 69% in 2009 to 87% in 2010.
