Critics blast bills sacrificing trees for lower billboards

A PROPOSAL IN the General Assembly to loosen restrictions on billboard companies' ability to cut trees around their signs will hurt Georgia's economic development efforts, according to a Troutman Sanders partner who works on land-use issues.A 75-foot limit would be imposed on the height of billboards, according to two separate bills filed in the state House and Senate.
