Nabarro sticks at 2012 level at half year point

Nabarro has posted broadly static revenue at the halfway point of the 2013-14 financial year, with figures rising marginally by 0.4%. The firm brought in £52.5m in total revenue for the six-month period leading to October, marking a very slight increase from the equivalent point last year when Nabarro logged £52.3m in revenue.

Eversheds expands in Africa with South Africa and Tunisia ventures

Eversheds has opened four offices across Africa through tie-ups with South African firm Mahons Attorneys and Tunisia's El Heni. The agreement with Mahons has handed Eversheds presences in Johannesburg, where Mahons has two offices, as well as Cape Town and Mauritius. The ten-partner firm will rebrand as Eversheds in the New Year.

Taylor Wessing posts double digit growth in UK half-year revenue

Taylor Wessing has seen double digit growth for the first six months of the 2013-14 financial year, posting an increase of 10% in UK revenue. The firm, which declined to disclose exact figures, posted 9% growth in international, including UK, revenue. Last year the firm recorded a global revenue rise of 23.3% and UK revenue growth of 6.6% in the first half of 2012-13. The firm recorded UK revenue of £104.5m at the end of the 2012-13 full financial year, rising by just under 4% from £101m.

Bird & Bird posts 5% hike in revenue at half year point after Denmark merger

Bird & Bird has posted a 5% rise in revenue at the 2013-14 half-year mark. The firm, which manages its accounts in euros, did not disclose an exact half-year turnover figure but the figures come after the firm posted revenue increase of £249m for the full 2012-13 financial year, up 6% from £235m. This year's half-year results account for the firm's office opening in Denmark, when it merged with local ally Bender von Haller Dragsted in May.

A&O hires HSF partner to head up Australian antitrust practice

Allen & Overy (A&O) has appointed Peter McDonald from Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) as its new head of antitrust in Australia. McDonald, who will be based in Sydney, joined legacy Freehills' Melbourne-based competition group in 2003 from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, where he worked as a senior officer. He was made up as partner at HSF in 2009.
