Eversheds and Baker Botts have landed key roles on Siemens' joint venture with energy services company Wood Group, which will create a $1bn (£624m) oil and gas rotating equipment business. Aberdeen-based Wood Group is spinning off the majority of its maintenance and power solutions operation into a joint venture with the German company.

Allen & Overy (A&O) has upped associate salaries at the financial half-year mark, with increased salaries for junior lawyers across the board. Associates with two year's PQE and three years' PQE have seen the largest salary increases, with the former taking home £78,500, which increased from £74,500. Those with three years' experience have seen salaries jump by £3,000 to £89,000.

Garrigues posts dip in revenues as 14 make equity partner

Garrigues has announced a 1.7% revenue dip for 2012-13, with revenues falling to €331.9m (£284.5m) in the 12 months leading to 31 August 2013. The results follow a particularly hard year for Spanish law firms in 2011-12, with Garrigues last year reporting a 5% dip to €337.6m (£289.3m). Meanwhile the firm has promoted 14 new partners to the equity. Five new partners are based in Madrid, two in Barcelona and one each in Shanghai, Alicante, Murcia, Oporto, Pamplona, Valencia and Vitoria.
