Hank Nayden is stepping into the role of general counsel at the company known for its animated gecko pitchman who boasts that 15 minutes can save you 15 percent or more on car insurance.

Nayden will also add the title of vice president and continue as legislative counsel at Geico, a role he began in 2000 with the Chevy Chase, Maryland-based auto insurance giant.

He replaces Dana Proulx, who recently retired, according to his LinkedIn profile. Proulx began with Geico in 1979 in the products and compliance division and worked his way up to become GC in 2006.
