Miami's most notable homegrown tech multimillionaires wowed an audience of local finance and banking professionals Wednesday, predicting in an uplifting presentation that the city would soon be a hub for technology financing.

At a breakfast keynote presentation hosted by the Miami Finance Forum, tech-entrepreneur-turned-investor Manny Medina said Miami's unique cultural and business climate were assets that were already attracting talented tech companies from Latin America. He suggested that dynamic would put the city on the map as interest in that market intensified.

“The economic turmoil elsewhere in the world is making Latin America very appealing,” Medina, who made his fortune as founder of tech company Terramark, said. “I think you know where I'm going with this.”
